Job Description:

Performs psychoeducational evaluations(cognitive, academic, social/emotional, etc. assessments). Administers,scores, and interprets norm-referenced, as well as criterion referencedassessment instruments. Attends specified TEAM meetings to go overevaluation reports with TEAM members, provide input for IEP eligibilityand/or services, and make recommendations Synthesizes information andrecommendations in conjunction with other TEAM members into aneffective, individually appropriate educational plan and assists in itswriting as needed. Assists in the diagnosis of learning disabilities instudents Maintains evaluation and assessment activities log Consultswith teachers about classroom management techniques, students’ behaviorand academic performance. Makes regular classroom visits to observestudent interaction in the classroom setting. Consults with parentsregarding their children’s behavior and academic performance. AttendsStudent Support Team (SST) meetings as needed Attends monthly PsychDepartment and Special Education meetings Represents the Holyoke PublicSchools at appropriate conferences and professional development. Reportsto assigned building(s) principal(s), Department Head, specified SpecialEducation Coordinator, and Special Education Director. Completes otherduties as assigned by the aforementioned people above.

Qualifications:

Master?s degree required Massachusetts School Psychologist CertificationCommitment to ensuring academic success for all students Experienceworking in an urban setting, preferred Experience working with diversestudent populations, preferred Ability to read, interpret, and applystudent performance data to instructional planning and execution Strongwritten and verbal communication skills; excellent teamwork skillsBilingual applicants (Spanish) strongly encouraged to apply Requiredlicense(s):
