Pediatric Testing Psychologist 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars 100 University Drive, Amherst, MA 01002 Summary The Testing Psychologist is responsible for all aspects of diagnostic patient evaluations, providing support to testing technicians and students, as well as maintaining effective clinical documentation, billing records, and office procedures. The Testing Psychologist plays a key role in all aspects of the ACP patient care process, from initial evaluations through to the finalization of care.

Essential Functions Diagnostic Patient Evaluations:

Conduct and document a detailed clinical interview Educate families about the testing process and clarify any policies and procedures. Determine appropriate testing measures and indicate the ordered measures in the patient record. Request authorization from insurance to provide testing services. If authorization is not granted, complete any appeals and follow up to ensure patient can receive services. Administer testing measures as needed and provide support to testing technicians. Write integrative review of results, formulate diagnosis, and generate tailored clinical recommendations. Review clinical cases and reports in supervision with Director or Psychology as needed and addressing any concerns or revisions. Respond to requested follow-up from patients or parents as needed in order to answer questions or clarify clinical procedures. Provide integrative feedback session where results of testing are provided to the patient along with diagnostic impressions and tailored recommendations. Periodic reviews, and ongoing further education and training to ensure delivery of appropriate and effective services. Provide support to

Testing Technicians and Practicum Students:

Facilitate weekly supervision for practicum students. Provide teaching and training regarding testing measures, administration, and office policies and procedures, especially in the first few weeks of their placement. Observe students in their initial testing administration. Review testing protocols in order to identify any errors or difficulties in scoring and administration and providing follow-up support to clarify as needed. Deliver additional support ongoing as needed regarding topics such as: engaging resistant patients in testing process, formulating complex cases, effective ways to provide feedback, and ongoing test scoring and administration support as needed.

Clinical Documentation, Billing, and Office Procedures :

Document all patient contact in chart and submitting electronic billing for each case. Maintain a patient tracking spreadsheet in order to monitor progress and caseload, and ensure patients receive follow-up in a timely manner. Follow up with office staff regarding any insurance questions, or authorization complications. Review each patient’s chart after their testing date to follow up on any materials that have not been completed or returned. Continue implementation of “call log” procedure to alert front office staff which patients will require follow-up and to enable the staff to effectively document follow-up with patients. Prompt staff to make regular attempts to contact patients on call log regarding any missing materials or appointments. Document contact attempts in the chart when a patient does not respond to requests for follow up. Track billable hours and monitor productivity, addressing any obstacles to productivity as needed. Develop, implement, and clarify procedures in collaboration with Director or Psychology as needed and appropriate to support continued effective clinical and procedural practices. Work Environment This position operates in a center based environment. Physical Demands Physical demands for this position are limited. Travel Required Occasional travel may be required. Education and Experience Doctoral Degree (PhD, PsyD) in Clinical Psychology Licensed in Clinical Psychology in MA Additional Requirements Employees in this role are considered essential workers as part of the critical infrastructure.
