Job Summary The clinician in this role will provide initial diagnostic assessments for individuals seeking treatment with McLean’s Adult and Geriatric Ambulatory Services. The clinician should have broad psychodiagnostic assessment and case conceptualization knowledge and experience. The clinician’s initial assessment will inform referral to one of the specialized clinics or service lines at McLean which include but are not limited to treatment for mood disorders including depression-related and anxiety-related, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, trauma-related disorders, etc. Knowledge about evidence-based treatments for a broad range of psychiatric problems and comfort with disposition planning is needed. Qualifications Conduct psychodiagnostic interviews and provide timely case conceptualization, patient feedback and treatment recommendations. Collaborate and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team. Review referral and other clinical information, integrate clinical interview data, practice evidence-based case conceptualization and provide timely feedback and treatment recommendations. This person will have the responsibility to provide clinical services for assigned patients. Additionally, this person may have opportunities to participate in hospital community service, research and teaching as indicated by interests, training, and experience. Provides clinical services including psychodiagnostic assessment, individual and group psychotherapy. Documents in the record by the completion of treatment plans, patient encounter forms, appropriate progress notes, clinical summaries and other documentation in accordance with hospital policies. Serves as liaison to other health care professionals including mental health practitioners, medication providers, administrative staff, and others. Participates in program and hospital administrative activities (e.g. staff meetings, peer consultation, hospital committees, etc.) Maintains awareness of medicolegal/risk management issues. Participates in the hospital teaching and research efforts.
