JOB SUMMARY
The staff psychologist selects and administers a variety of psychological tests to children from 2•18 years of age based upon patient case history, intake appointments with parents of patients, and testing objectives. The staff psychologist independently interprets tests, prepares a written narrative report of diagnostic findings,municates assessment results to families, and makes rmendations for intervention planning and monitoring based on assessment results. The staff psychologist functions within a multi-disciplinary team of professionals. Option to conduct individual and group therapeutic interventions with children and/or parents If the applicant has training or interest in that area. The staff psychologist position provides the opportunity to serve pediatric patients through the
Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics Section of the Department of Pediatrics at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. We are a strictly outpatient, ambulatory clinic. The Section of Developmental Pediatrics provides outpatient interdisciplinary evaluation and treatment of autism spectrum disorder, intellectual developmental disorder/intellectual disability, other neurodevelopmental disorders, and genetic disorders/chromosomal anomalies. Developmental Pediatrics provides evaluation and intervention services through in person visits, as well as telehealth (video conferencing).
The staff psychologist will administer assessment measures of development/cognition, adaptive functioning, autism, andmon co-occurring conditions and rule-outs in order to provide supportive feedback for individuals and their families around strengths and needs for support. Due to the variety of offerings, clinical opportunities range from 1-hour screenings or therapy appointments to 4-hour full psychological evaluations. We strive to provide culturally sensitive services that meet social and cultural needs of patients from diverse backgrounds, including consideration of the appropriateness of our assessments, partnering with families, and collaborating with medical language interpreters. Referrals involve a wide variety of patient populations, including but not limited to Autism, Developmental Delay, Genetic disorders, Neuromuscular disorders, Learning disability, Intellectual disability,plex ADHD, Behavioral concerns in children with special health care needs, etc. For more information please visit our at:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum:
master’s degree in Psychology (school, clinical, or related). Ed. S., Ph.D, and Psy.
Dpleters are also eligible to . Eighteen months of clinical experience in psychological assessment with a pediatric population. Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder is preferred, including ability to administer the ADOS-2. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or
REGISTRATION
Licensure in North Carolina as a Psychological Associate or Licensed Psychologist is preferred. Will consider candidates who are licensure eligible in the state of North Carolina based on their previous training, have passed their required licensure tests, and only need toplete their supervised work experience for licensure. Supervision for psychologists is available within the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Planning psychological assessment batteries based on intake interviews with parents, record review, and case history. 2. Administering psychological and developmental tests.
3. Interpreting test results. 4. Consulting with multidisciplinary team members in the department as necessary. 5. Preparing written narrative reports of diagnostic findings. 6.Making rmendations based on test results. 7. Communicating results of psychological assessment to parents. 8. If fits applicant interest, providing individual or group treatment options, including parent training.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to relate expressively and dynamically with other people. Ability to prepare professional narrative reports. Ability to explain test results to parents with professional clarity. Ability to choose an appropriate testing battery based on background information and case history. Ability to administer psychological tests with fidelity. Ability to lead and direct meaningful short-term, instructional, group and individual therapy (optional).
