Consolidated Medical Staffing is looking for a ForensicPsychologist for forensic evaluation services at Central RegionalHospital in Butner, NC. The psychologists who work on the serviceare doctoral level and do evaluations to determine a patientscapacity to proceed on criminal charges.•
Job Description:
•Thepsychologist will conduct pretrial forensic evaluations. Dutiesinclude, but are not limited to: Conduct pretrial forensicevaluations, including outpatients, inpatients, and consultation toother hospitals. Evaluations can be of Capacity to Proceed,assessment of possible use of a Not Guilty by Reason of Insanitydefense, risk assessment, or other specialized types of ForensicEvaluation. Advanced use and interpretation of psychologicaltesting. Consultation with attorneys about evaluation results.
Reporting directly to judges about evaluation results. Testifyingin court about the conclusions reached in the forensic evaluations.
Provide direct supervision to interns and post-doctoral fellows inthe Forensic Service.
This is a full-time position. The normal workhours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00 pm; however, flexibility,including part-time hours, will be considered.•Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities / Competencies• Extensive knowledge, skill, & abilityin age-appropriate psychological testing, psychopathology, &diagnosis. Knowledge of specific psychological tests, includingtests of intellectual ability, personality, forensic specifictesting, and neuropsychological screening instruments. Knowledge ofForensic Psychology, including evaluation of competency to standtrial and NGRI defense issues. If not licensed, must apply for suchwithin 30 days of employment, and successfully attain licensure nolater than the second sitting for the national and state licensureexamination. ADA physical requirements will be discussed in detailduring the interview process.•Minimum Education and ExperienceRequirements•Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina under theprovisions of the NC Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90-270) and twoyears of professional psychological experience, one of which mustbe postdoctoral. Refer to the law for specifics regardingexperience requirements.
