Job Description

Job Duties:

The purpose of this position in the Center for Telepsychiatry and e-Behavioral Health (CTeBH) is to provide a full range of psychiatric services to patients and their families, including, but not limited to: Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluation including a comprehensive mental status examination. Order, conduct, and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests. Diagnose psychiatric disorders based on

DSM-IV-R

criteria. Plan treatment in collaboration with patients, families, and colleagues. Provide indicated treatments based on scientific and evidence-based principles, using, but not limited to, the following interventions: prescribing pharmacologic agents, prescribing non-pharmacologic cognitive, behavioral, and other psychotherapies, patient and family education, and referral to other health professional and resources. Documents all relevant data according to clinical and regulatory standards Duties are performed under the guidelines established by the state board of medical examiners and in collaboration with a licensed physician.

CLINICAL SUPPORT POSITION – NOT SUBJECT TO STATE HUMAN RESOURCES ACT

. Employment in this position provides eligibility to participate in the UNC Optional Retirement Program ( ORP ) which offers matching employer contributions and employee control of investment choices, along with eligibility to participate in various Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plans (401k, 403b, 457). This position is not eligible to participate in the NC Teachers’ and State Employees’ Retirement System ( TSERS ).
