Job Description

Job Summary The Health Behaviorist works in the primary or specialty care setting and is a core member of a collaborative-care team that includes a patient’s medical provider and a psychiatric consultant, as well as the larger primary care team or medical team. She or he provides behavioral health consultation to children, adolescents, adults and families to improve behaviors and mental health conditions to positively impact a patient’s overall health goals. Qualifications Education:

Graduate Degree, required. Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field, required.

Experience:

Minimum of three yrs experience, required.

Licensure/Certification:

LPC, LCSW, Clinical Psychologist or PMHCNS (North Carolina), required. Additional Skills (required): Good working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office and medical-based software. Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments for medical and mental health conditions. Ability to work through brief patient contacts as well as to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions. Should be comfortable with the pace of primary care, working with an interdisciplinary team, and have strong communication skills. Good knowledge of psycho-pharmacology. Ability to design and implement clinical pathways and protocols for treatment of selected chronic conditions. Additional Skills (preferred): Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification and all other duties as assigned. Job Opening
