Position Summary:

The Psychologist is responsible for planning and implementing psychological services in a correctional facility setting. This includes providing assessments, counseling, treatment plans, crisis interventions, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to support the mental health of inmates.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct psychological screenings and assessments. Collaborate with mental health and medical teams. Develop and implement individual treatment plans. Monitor mental health in segregation or high-risk areas. Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies. Consult with staff across departments to support patient care.

Requirements:

Education:

Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution.

License:

Current, unrestricted license to practice Psychology in Tennessee.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (1 year in a comparable setting).

Other:

Must be at least 18 years old. Valid driver’s license required. Must provide a Social Security card for clearance. Fingerprinting on Day 1•guaranteed hours begin during clearance process.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of psychological theory and treatment techniques Experience in correctional or institutional settings preferred Team collaboration and crisis management
