• Radiation Therapist Summary:

• We are a superficial radiotherapy (SRT) provider operating in theDermatology arena, with a focus on quality and customer service.

Founded in 2016, we are poised to become the largest provider ofSRT for Dermatologists in the U.S. Our core competency centers onstriving to be the Dermatologist’s ‘aspirin’ in all aspects of SRTsolutions for their patients.

• Radiation Therapist Responsibilities:

• Administer prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts,using radiation therapy equipment according to establishedpractices and standards.
• Position patients for treatment with accuracy according toprescription.
• Enter data into computer and set controls to operate and adjustequipment and regulate dosage.
• Follow principles of radiation protection for patient, self, andothers.
• Maintain records, reports and files as required, including suchinformation as radiation dosages, equipment settings and patients’reactions.
• Review prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, andidentification.
• Conduct most treatment sessions independently, in accordance withthe long-term treatment plan and under the general direction of thepatient’s physician.
• Check radiation therapy equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Observe and reassure patients during treatment and report unusualreactions to physician or turn equipment off if unexpected adversereactions occur.
• Check for side effects such as skin irritation and hair loss toassess patients’ reaction to treatment.
• Educate, prepare and reassure patients and their families byanswering questions, providing physical assistance, and reinforcingphysicians’ advice regarding treatment reactions and post-treatmentcare.
• Calculate actual treatment dosages delivered during eachsession.
• Prepare and construct equipment, such as immobilization,treatment, and protection devices.
• Photograph treated area of patient.
• Help physicians, radiation oncologists and clinical physicists toprepare physical and technical aspects of radiation treatmentplans, using information about patient condition and anatomy.
• Train and supervise student or subordinate radiotherapytechnologists.
• Act as liaison with physicist and supportive care personnel.
• Provide assistance to other health-care personnel duringdosimetry procedures and tumor localization.
• Implement appropriate follow-up care plans.

• Radiation Therapist Required License/Certification:

• Graduate of an accredited program
• ARRT Board Certification in Radiation Therapy, R.T.(T), orregistry eligible within 3 months
• State licensure (if applicable)
