Seeking Radiation Therapist:

FULL-TIME

• Radiation TherapistSummary:

• We are a superficial radiotherapy (SRT) provideroperating in the Dermatology arena, with a focus on quality andcustomer service. Founded in 2016, we are poised to become thelargest provider of SRT for Dermatologists in the U.S. Our corecompetency centers on striving to be the Dermatologist’s ‘aspirin’in all aspects of SRT solutions for their patients.

• RadiationTherapist Responsibilities:

• Administer prescribed doses ofradiation to specific body parts, using radiation therapy equipmentaccording to established practices and standards.
• Positionpatients for treatment with accuracy according to prescription.
• Enter data into computer and set controls to operate and adjustequipment and regulate dosage.
• Follow principles of radiationprotection for patient, self, and others.
• Maintain records,reports and files as required, including such information asradiation dosages, equipment settings and patients’ reactions.
• Review prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification.
• Conduct most treatment sessions independently, in accordance withthe long-term treatment plan and under the general direction of thepatient’s physician.
• Check radiation therapy equipment to ensureproper operation.
• Observe and reassure patients during treatmentand report unusual reactions to physician or turn equipment off ifunexpected adverse reactions occur.
• Check for side effects such asskin irritation and hair loss to assess patients’ reaction totreatment.
• Educate, prepare and reassure patients and theirfamilies by answering questions, providing physical assistance, andreinforcing physicians’ advice regarding treatment reactions andpost-treatment care.
• Calculate actual treatment dosages deliveredduring each session.
• Prepare and construct equipment, such asimmobilization, treatment, and protection devices.
• Photographtreated area of patient.
• Help physicians, radiation oncologistsand clinical physicists to prepare physical and technical aspectsof radiation treatment plans, using information about patientcondition and anatomy.
• Train and supervise student or subordinateradiotherapy technologists.
• Act as liaison with physicist andsupportive care personnel.
• Provide assistance to other health-carepersonnel during dosimetry procedures and tumor localization.
• Implement appropriate follow-up care plans.

• Radiation TherapistRequired License/Certification:

• Graduate of an accreditedprogram
• ARRT Board Certification in Radiation Therapy, R.T.(T), orregistry eligible within 3 months
• State licensure (ifapplicable)
