ABrief Overview Delivers daily prescribed therapeutic radiationdoses to radiation therapy patients under the guidance of theRadiation Oncologists and Physicist and collaborates with otherstaff. This position is responsible for the daily technical andscheduling process. Assists the Radiation Oncologist in the initialset-up of a patient’s radiation therapy treatment. What you will doDelivers prescribed therapeutic radiation doses to patients andaccurately monitors and documents each treatment. Responsible forpatient assessment, direction, and education. Incorporatestechnical knowledge of the equipment and expertise of clinicaltreatment set-up, anatomical landmarks, treatment recording, andmanagement during patient care. Develops an understanding of thepatient’s physical and emotional status and reports to appropriatestaff. Documents patient care and treatment. Makes decisionsrelated to patient care and treatment that is necessary beyondnormal routine of clinical care. This could include nutritional andskin care guidance, suggestions on treatment visit by the physicianand/or nurse practitioner, if the patient is having problems.
Conveys set-up instructions to co-workers and communicateseffectively with physicians on treatment concerns. Makes decisionsregarding patient scheduling and times. Communicates with patientand families regarding treatment. Provides patient care andinitiates life support measures as necessary. Interacts effectivelywith patients, physicians, family members, department staff, andhealth care workers. Performs computed tomography scans simulations(CT Sims) at a level not requiring constant supervision.
Understands simulation exam protocols. Performs simulation oftreatment area under the supervision of the Radiation Oncologist.

To perform this job successfully, an individualmust be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorilyincluding having visual acuity adequate to perform position dutiesand the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear,understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education,License/Certification, or Work Experience:
Associate’s Graduatedfrom an Accredited School of Radiation Therapy Technology RadiationTherapy (T) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Upon Hire Preferred Education, License/Certification, or WorkExperience:
