Job Description

Job Summary The Chief Radiation Therapist adheres to all radiation therapist clinical duties in addition to supervisory duties that entail charge entry review, decision-making, planning, organizing and evaluating to contribute to the achievement of established Cancer Center goals and objectives. Responsible for the planning, coordination and evaluation of the radiation therapists, as well as interacts and directs the simulation therapists, radiation therapists, and radiation therapy students in order to effectively deliver high quality treatments. May perform the duties of a radiation therapist up to 50% of the time to maintain high quality care. Qualifications Education:

Above degree or graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.

Experience:

Five years related experience as a staff radiation therapist, required. Three years chief therapist managerial role. Three years’ experience with Radiation Oncology billing/charge entry. Preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

Current

ARRT, VA

license in Radiation Therapy; required.

The knowledge required to perform this job once learned has frequent changes. Must be willing to adapt to changes and train and supervise others on those changes. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing; computer skills to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Intranet/Internet. Proven ability to multi-task, and work successfully within a fast paced performance driven culture. Excellent facilitation skills; superior communication skills; ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
