What You Will Need:
Associate’s Degree in Radiation Therapy Required, Bachelor’s Degree in Radiation Therapy Preferred Registered & Certified as a Radiation Therapy Technologist by the ARRT or Deemed Registry Eligible & able to sit for the Radiation Therapy Certification Exam Valid CPR Certification – BLS Effective communication and collaboration skills to foster effective teamwork environment Proficient in organization, analytics, basic computer use, and troubleshooting as needed; Job Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to): Administers prescribed radiation therapy, demonstrating expertise in equipment operation, human anatomy, and patient positioning for effective treatments. Manages simulation and treatment schedules to ensure efficient, appropriate patient care. Conducts simulations to optimize patient setup for radiation treatments. Ensures radiation therapy follows the prescribed plan for positive patient outcomes. Educates patients and their families to enhance compliance with care plans. Stays up-to-date on skills and techniques in the field of radiation therapy; Commits to professional development to maintain technical knowledge to educate other staff members, as well as self. Keeps supplies and equipment organized to promote a positive work setting. This position involves the possibility of high-stress situations, as well as frequent exposure to infections, hazardous substances, occasional radiation, and possible toxic chemicals. It also includes the risk of injury from equipment, exposure to unpleasant elements, handling varying potential crises, irregular hours, and potential need for judgment/actions that could impact patient outcomes, including the possibility of patient fatality.
