This position qualifies for a $5,000 commitment incentivewhich will be paid over a three (3) year work commitment. Equalinstallments will be paid after each six (6) months of workcompleted.

Summary:

Administers radiation therapy treatments tooncology patients. Works includes assessment, intervention,calculations, documentation and patient education. Works isperformed under the general supervision of a radiation therapysupervisor and is evaluated by conformance to standards andprocedures.

Responsibilities:

1. Administers radiation therapy inaccordance with physician’s instructions and the patient’streatment plan. Enters data into computer and set controls tooperate and adjust equipment and regulate dosage.2. Assistsphysicians, radiation oncologists, clinical physicists and othersas necessary to prepare physical and technical aspects of radiationtreatment plans, using information about patient condition andanatomy. Constructs patient immobilization devices as ordered byphysicians3. Maintains patient and billing records, reports andfiles according to department policies and procedures, includinginformation as radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patients?reactions4. Performs routine and complex radiation therapytreatments such as total body irradiation, stereotacticradiosurgery, and low and high brachytherapy according toestablished practices and standards.5. Prepares equipment and roomfor patient. Uses appropriate protective equipment and proceduresto ensure safety of patients, self, and others. Performs qualityassurance procedures per state and federal guidelines.6. Provideson-the-job clinical instruction and evaluation for studentradiation therapists.

• Graduation from a Radiation Therapy Technologistprogram approved by the Council of Allied Health Education andAccreditation (CAHEA).

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

•Radiation Therapy certification by the American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (ARRT) Or Board Eligible (must receivecertification within one year of hire)
