JobSummary :

n A Radiation Therapist administers prescribed radiationtreatments to patients with cancer or other diseases, usingadvanced equipment such as linear accelerators. This role plays acritical part in the oncology team, working closely with radiationoncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionalsto provide safe and effective radiation therapy. The RadiationTherapist ensures accurate treatment delivery, monitors patientprogress, and provides compassionate care to patients undergoingradiation therapy. nn

Key Responsibilities :

n n Administer radiation therapy treatments according to theradiation oncologist’s prescriptions and treatment plans. n Position patients correctly using advanced imaging andtreatment equipment, ensuring accuracy and safety during therapysessions. n Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, includinglinear accelerators and simulators, to ensure proper function andsafety. n Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, andother healthcare professionals to develop and implementindividualized treatment plans. n Monitor patients during treatments, observing for any reactionsor side effects, and providing supportive care as needed. n Maintain detailed patient records, including treatmentprogress, imaging data, and responses to therapy. n Educate patients about the radiation therapy process, potentialside effects, and post-treatment care. n Follow strict safety protocols related to radiation exposure,ensuring the use of protective equipment and adherence to safetyguidelines. n Assist in the calibration and quality assurance of radiationequipment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. n Stay current with advancements in radiation therapy techniques,equipment, and oncology care through continuing education. n nn

Education :

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in RadiationTherapy or a related field. n

Certification :

n n Certified Radiation Therapist (CRT) or Registered RadiationTherapist (RRT) certification from the American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. n Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. n n n

Experience :

Previous experience in radiation therapy oroncology n Wellspring Nurse Source Job ID #31698429. Pay packageis based on 8 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject toconfirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
