Required Qualifications:

• Successful completion of a Radiology program of study withspecialization and training in MRI
• One years’ experience as anMRI Tech
• Valid Radiology/MRI license in compliance with stateregulations
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)

PreferredQualifications:

• Current ARRT or equivalent certification
• Current ARMRIT or equivalent certification
• Other certificationsand licenses may be required for this position

Summary:

The MRITechnologist operates magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners toproduce high-quality 3D images used in medical diagnosis. Theyinteract directly with patients and administer intravenousinjections of contrast dye as needed and collaborate withhealthcare teams to provide accurate diagnostic results. MRITechnologists are responsible for maintaining equipment, adheringto safety protocols, and ensuring patient-centered care throughoutthe imaging process.

Essential Work Functions:

• Screen patientsfor MRI safety and contraindications prior to procedure, ensuringcompliance with safety protocols
• Educate patients on MRIprocedure and answers questions if they arise
• Maintain, inspect,and troubleshoot MRI equipment to ensure proper functionality andreport any malfunctions
• Starts I.V.s, administers contrast mediaper orders and protocol, monitoring patients for adverse reactions
• Monitor image quality during procedures and make adjustments toscanning parameters for optimal diagnostic results
• Document allprocedure details, including imaging parameters and patientobservations, in compliance with hospital policies
• Collaboratewith radiologists and healthcare providers to ensure accuratediagnostic imaging and timely delivery of results
• Maintain aclean, organized workspace in compliance with infection control andhospital policies
• Follows hospital safety rules and proceduresincluding infection control and radiation safety protocols
• Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of an
