The Nurse practices independently within a similar clinicalsetting, providing routine and complex care while managinglong-term goals and contingencies. Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patientsituations and makes appropriate assignments or delegations. Utilizes the nursing process•assessment, diagnosis, planning,intervention, and evaluation•to deliver quality care. Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs ofpatients and families according to their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments following protocols,monitoring for side effects and effectiveness. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and careprovided. Provides education to patients, families, and caregivers,identifying learning needs and available resources.
