Responsibilities:
At Fast Pace Urgent Care, OrthopedicX-Ray Technicians provide clinical and administrative supportessential for effective patient care under the direct supervisionof a Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant). Theyprovide outstanding patient service, maintaining a compassionateand welcoming atmosphere, and respond quickly and accurately tochanges in condition or response to treatment in addition toimaging. The Orthopedic X-Ray Technician will provide effectivecustomer service for all internal and external customers by usingexcellent, in
- depth knowledge as well as communicating effectivelywith team members.

What You Will Do:
•
Clinical:
Triage patients by checking and recording vitals, collect andrecord pertinent clinical history and all other information deemednecessary for proper charting in the EMS. Assists orthopedic provider in patient assessments andexaminations.
Apply casts, splints, braces, and other orthopedicdevices based on provider orders. Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake. Educate patients on device care, mobility restrictions, andfollow-up appointments. Perform measurements and fittings for custom orthopedicdevices. Perform phlebotomy, lab testing, and other basic nursing taskswhen not directly in the course of a radio graphical exam. Perform wound care and suture removal as needed. Monitor and track x-ray orders so they can be completed andsubmitted in a timely manner. Assist patient with proper positioning during the exam toensure diagnostic quality. Responsible to correctly label laterality of all images usinginitialed lead markers. Review exam images for initial read by provider and send finalimages to radiology group for over read. The ability to maintain friendly, cordial relations with allclients and employees; maintain a positive work atmosphere byacting and communicating in a manner that results in a positivework relationship with customers, co-workers, and managers•
Administrative:
Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and schedulereferrals. Maintain and update patient records. Prepare and organize patient charts for upcomingappointments. Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointmentcalendar. May perform as a Scribe as needed. Assist providers with conducting proper patient follow-ups,including but not limited to, conducting follow-up calls within 1-2days of treatment, respond to messages within the same day ofreceipt. Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and triageurgent messages to orthopedic provider. Manage inventory, order medical supplies and medications asneeded. Triage patients by checking and recording vitals, collect andrecord pertinent clinical history and all other information deemednecessary for proper charting in the EMS. Perform blood draws, give injections, administer oralmedications and perform other basic nursing tasks when not directlyin the course of a radio graphical exam if applicable in yourstate.
