Summary TheMammography Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeuticmammographic procedures in hospital, clinic or mobile van sites,according to established protocols to assist the referringphysician in diagnosis and treatment. The Mammography Technologistoperates digital mammography equipment and performs procedures bypositioning patients, preparing contrast medias, and selecting thecorrect exposure factors utilizing the assessment of patient age,pathology and diagnosis to produce technically accurate digital andor analog images to assist the radiologist in diagnosis. This willinclude x-ray and mammography with the opportunity to train inDEXA, stereotactic/needle localization procedures and ContrastEnhanced Mammography. Qualifications Requirements Graduate of anapproved Radiography program. CT State Radiographer’s Licenserequired. ARRT (R) required – ARRT (M) preferred Current xray andmammography experience highly preferred. Acute care experience andexperience with invasive procedures is very highly preferred.
