Under the supervision ofthe Diagnostic Radiology Manager and/or Assistant ChiefTechnologist, performs a wide variety of technical and professionalduties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce qualityradiographic images as requested for subsequent interpretation bythe radiologist. All duties are performed according to departmentaland organizational policies and procedures. To meet the staffingneeds of the department, as necessary, Diagnostic Radiology staffmay be assigned at any of the YNHH Diagnostic Radiology locations,regardless of your regularly assigned work location.

Performs quality andefficient diagnostic radiographic examinations, utilizingappropriate protocols and age specific standards. 1.1 Verifiesphysician-s order on requisitions 100% of the time. 2. Operatesradiographic equipment to ensure proper technical results. 2.1Conducts daily inspection of radiographic equipment to ensureproper performance and image quality. 3. Prepares examination roomto ensure a clean and safe environment with adequate supplies toassure efficient and accurate performance of exams. 3.1 Replacesany used supplies immediately after patient is dismissed 4.Performs quality and compassionate patient care, utilizingappropriate age specific standards, to ensure patient cooperation,safety, and satisfaction. 4.1 Thoroughly explains the procedure toensure patient physical and emotional comfort 5. Performs variousrecord keeping, customer service functions, and communicatesfeedback to ensure the goals of the department are met andoperations run efficiently. 5.1 Accurately edits and completes allexaminations in Imagecast to ensure proper medical recorddocumentation and billing. 6. Participates in various teachingand/or learning opportunities in order to further his/her ownpersonal knowledge and to assist in expanding the knowledge ofothers. 6.1 Receptive to teaching new technologists, students,residents 7. To enhance the patient experience in Diagnosticradiology all staff will be responsible to achieve patientsatisfaction scores set by the department on the Test & Treatmentsection of our Press Ganey Survey. 7.1 1. Staff will presentthemselves in a friendly and courteous manner; Staff will identifythemselves and their role while encouraging a Patient and FamilyCenter experience. 1.2 Staff will fully explain procedure and askif the patient has any additional questions about the procedure.1.3 Staff will address any comfort issues a patient may have priorto starting procedure. 1.4 Staff will thank patient once procedureis completed and ask the patient if they have any additionalquestions. 1.5 Staff must meet the above goals and fiscal yearthreshold value, which was last fiscal year actual for a 2 ratingon review. 2. Staff must meet the above goals and exceed fiscalyear threshold value by .2 for a 3 rating on review. 3. Staff mustmeet the above goals and exceed fiscal year threshold value by .4for a 4 rating on review. Qualifications
EDUCATION
Graduation froman A.M.A. approved Radiologic Technology program. AS degreepreferred but not required with relevant years of experience.
EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated technical skills to meet entry levelstandards of routine radiography. RT(R) certification by theAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ConnecticutState License, and CPR Certification.
LICENSURE
All certificationsfor American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT),Connecticut State License, and CPR Certification must be keptcurrent at all times.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Proficient in routineRadiography CR/Digital imaging techniques, above average knowledgeof computer / Pacs applications, and good organizational andcommunication/customer service skills.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Must be ableto lift a minimum of 40 pounds to assist with patient transfers.
