Under the supervision ofthe Diagnostic Radiology Manager and/or Coordinator, performs awide variety of technical and professional duties utilizing compleximaging equipment to produce quality MRI images as requested forsubsequent interpretation by the radiologist. All duties areperformed according to departmental and organizational policies andprocedures and demonstrates exceptional service excellence in allinteractions as outlined in the Standards of Professional Behavior.

  • 1.

Performs a wide variety of technical andprofessional duties utilizing complex diagnostic imaging equipment.

Efficiently follows routine protocols, demonstrates independentjudgment, and has minimal inactive scanner utilization.

  • 1.1Follows routine protocols and refers to the doctor’s examrequisition to ensure the correct exam is performed. Is capable ofbuilding scan protocols utilizing the correct options with thecorrect pulse sequences.
  • 2. Performs quality and compassionatepatient care in order to ensure cooperation, safety, andsatisfaction. Demonstrates 100% accuracy on safety screening andcontinues to promote our pledge for Service Excellence.
  • 2.1Thoroughly explains the procedure to the patient and offer them theemotional support to endure and complete the exam.
  • 3. Performsvarious record keeping, customer service functions to ensure examcharges are properly billed and communicates feedback in order toensure goals of the department are met and operations runefficiently.
  • 3.1 Consistently selects the correct patient fromthe worklist with accuracy
  • 4. Participates in various teachingand learning opportunities in order to further professionalknowledge and expertise. Actively functions as a mentor to newemployees by participating in the orientation process.
  • 4.1Attends at least (5) training in-services per year as recorded bysupervisor/ manager.
  • 5. To enhance the Patient Experience inDiagnostic Radiology, all staff will be responsible to achievepatient satisfaction scores set by the department on the Tests andTreatment section of our Press Ganey Survey.
  • 5.

1 Staff willpresent themselves in a friendly and courteous manner. Staff willidentify themselves and their role while encouraging a Patient andFamily Experience. Qualifications

EDUCATION

Graduation from anA.M.A. approved Radiologic Technology program preferred, MRI boardcertification required. AS degree preferred, BS degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 1 year experience or has completed YNHH MRItraining program plus MRI Board Certification

LICENSURE

ARRT and CTstate license preferred, MRI board certification required. CPRCertification preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Proficient in routine MRIimaging techniques, above average knowledge of cross sectionanatomy, highly developed organizational skills, and timely andeffective communications skills is required.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

Mustbe able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds to assist with patienttransfers. YNHHS Requisition ID 134816
