Under the supervision of the Imaging Services AdministrativeManager, performs a wide variety of technical and professionalduties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce quality MRIimages as requested for subsequent interpretation by theradiologist. All duties are performed according to departmental andorganizational policies and procedures. - 1. Performs a wide variety of technical andprofessional duties utilizing complex MRI scanner equipment.
- 1.1Follows routine protocols when imaging and refers to the doctor’sexam requisition to ensure the correct exam is performed.
- 2.Performs quality and compassionate patient care in order to ensurecooperation, safety, and satisfaction.
- 2.1 Thoroughly explainsthe procedure to the patient to offer them the emotional support toendure and complete the exam.
- 3. Accurately documents allpertinent patient information including contrast amountsadministered, contrast waste, patient lab values and safety issues
- 3.1 Accurately completes/edits charges for exams.
- 4.Participates in various teaching and learning opportunities inorder to further his/her personal knowledge and professionalgrowth.
- 4.1 Keeps current with new imaging protocols and newadvanced techniques introduced in the field of Magnetic ResonanceImaging.
- 5. Demonstrate accuracy for safely screening forpatients and hospital staff.
- 5.1 Review and verify that thepatient safety screener information is accurate to ensure safetyprior to the MRI Scan.
- 6. Plans and and/or implements care forassigned patients.
- 6.1 Demonstrates knowledge of developmentalstages from adolescence to old age and applies developmentaltheories/concepts when planning and implementing care for the adultpateint as observed by the manager and as indicated by the staff.
- 7. Demonstrate the ablity to effectively communicate pertinentinformation.
- 7.1 Communicates effectively with patientsthroughout the exam to ensure cooperation for a quality exam asobserved by manager.
- 8. Consults with the radiologist in chargefor required exam prior to patient scanning.
- 8.1 Consults withthe radiologist prior to patient exam for non-protocol exams asobserved by the radiologist feedback.

Chaperone patients when necessary Qualifications EDUCATIONGraduation from an A.M.A. approved Radiologic Technology program.
EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated technical skills to meet entry levelstandards of routine Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
LICENSURE RT
(R)required, (MR) perferred. CT State License Required. SPECIAL SKILLSProficient in routine MRI imaging techniques, knowledge of crosssection anatomy, computer applications, and good organizational andcommunication/customer service skills.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Must be ableto lift a minimum of 40 pounds to assist with patient transfers.
