Performs a wide varietyof technical and professional duties using complex imagingequipment to produce quality mammographic images as requested. Allduties are performed according to departmental and organizationalpolicies and procedures. In order to meet staffing needs of thedepartment, staff may be occasionally assigned to any of the GHdiagnostic radiology locations regardless of regularly assignedwork location. This job description and requirements for thisposition have been approved by the medical chairman for thedepartment of diagnostic imaging as well as the executive committeeof the medical staff.   • 1. Performs all imaging studies and associated image verificationin PACS.
  • 1.1 Following Physicians’ orders and Managers directionstaking into consideration Departmental and Hospital policies andprocedures, identifies the type of examination required to achievedesire results.
  • 2. Maintains clean; caring, quiet professionalatmosphere.
  • 2.1 Cleans mammography equipment after each patient,or before each patient, also including all patient dressing areas
  • 3. Provides assistance to Physicians.
  • 3.1 Assists Radiologistwith specialty procedures (ie, stereo, needle locs., ductography)
  • 4. Performs quality control and assurance functions as needed.
  • 4.1 At the request of supervisors, will participate in qualityassurance and CQI Team activities.
  • 5. Contributes to theproductivity and efficient operation of the department.
  • 5.1 Ispunctual in reporting to work and adheres to allotted time off forbreaks and lunch. Volunteers to work off-shifts when needed. Nomore than three tardy occurrences per review period.
  • 6. Isresponsible for promoting the Greenwich Hospital Patient/GuestRelations Program.
  • 6.1 Acknowledges patients promptly in a kindcourteous manner.
  • 7.

It will be the responsibility of theTechnologist to submit to his/her supervisor one month prior tohis/her review pertinent information regarding his/her performancethroughout the year.

EDUCATION

Required to meet one ofthe following: Graduate of an accredited School of Radiography, ASdegree and graduate of an accredited Allied Health program with anadditional requirement of 12 months of full time Radiographyinstruction., Graduate of bachelor’s program with an additionalrequirement of 12 months of full time Radiography instruction.

Currently ARRT Registered and is in compliance with CErequirements. Has successfully passed ARRT advanced mammographycertification exam. Has 15 hours of mammography continuingeducation during the past 3 years. If hired as a trainee, mustcomplete initial full field digital mammography and digital breasttomosynthesis training before hire and must obtain advancedcertification (M) within six months of hire.

License, advanced ARRT certification inmammography (M), current CT state X-ray license. BLS also required

SPECIAL SKILLS

Ability to manage patient care in a high-stressenvironment.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

May be exposed to infectious diseases,or hazardous material. Average clinical radiology setting. Standingand walking most of the day. Working with lightweight equipmentwith occasional lifting, pushing and pulling of heavy objects. Musthave the ability to hear and observe all the surroundings of thedepartment and have manual dexterity. Assisting in moving/liftingof patient with physical problems. YNHHS Requisition ID 141103
