Videos Duties General duties reled to oversight of clinical operions are responsibility for coordining and overseeing the day-to-day work activities/operions of Radiology Service Technologists including DRTs, Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine Technologists. The DRT Team Leader is supervised and works closely with the Supervisory DRT or his/her designee. The DRT Team Leader assures optimum image quality control, efficient coordinion of activities, pient sisfaction, and safety throughout the imaging process and for all imaging modalities used their clinic. Works closely with the Technologists, Radiologists, Clinicians, Nurses, Clerical staff, Bio-medical Technicians, PACS manager and OI&T staff to meet the above goals. Quality Control (QC) of the entire imaging chain from image acquisition to image display is one of the most important roles of the DRT Lead Technologists. Some of the position duties are: Serves as timekeeper for the Radiology units to which they are assigned. Direct pient care duties is approximely 75% of the time, the DRT Team Leader assigned to perform routine Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist imaging exams such as CT, US, MRI, Mammography, and general Radiography and will sustain a documented average monthly exam volume like other Technologists; but reduce by the percentage of time they are assigned to direct pient care duties. Must possess the ability to check system for operion and assess acceptable performance based on established guidelines and knowledge of calibrion parameters and the ability to adjust as needed. Ensures th adeque quantities of radiologic supplies are available to meet workload demands through a systemized process of ordering, receipt, and inventory. comply with all directives, policies, and guidelines concerning scheduling and canceling appointments to assure th they meet the criteria. All applicants must be certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R). Advanced ARRT certificion is required for assignments th include computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), [or Mammography (M) duties performed independently, as applicable]. Advanced certificion indices th the incumbent [can opere independently] and has demonstred specific clinical competency in the approprie specialty and taken and passed the designed examinion. [In modalities th require advanced certificion, to support their continued development, technologists who do not possess an advanced certificion may be provided on the job training with oversight from a certified radiologic technologist. Educion-Transcripts Submitted . Completion of a full-time training course of least 24 months in durion (or the equivalent) in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certifice or an associe degree, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educion in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or from [other accrediting agencies as recognized by the Department of Educion (DOE).

N OTE :

Assignment to the clinical program director requires meeting JRCERT minimum educional standards as noted in the assignment description. Credentialing Standards . Public Law 97-35, the Consumer-Pient Radiion Health and Safety Act of 1981, requires th persons who administer radiologic procedures meet the credentialing standards in 42 CFR Part 75, Standards for the Accredition of Educional Programs and the Credentialing of Radiographic Personnel. Essentially, they must have successfully completed an educional program th meets or exceeds the standards described in th regulion and is accredited by an organizion recognized by the U.S. Department of Educion and be certified as radiographers in their field.

Grade Determinions :

Computed Tomography (CT). This specialty modality requires specific knowledge of cross sectional human anomy and its applicion in spiral, and/or, multi-slice computer tomography, inclusive of 3-D reconstruction scans, including drainages, biopsies, and peripheral vascular examinions. The technologist requires specific knowledge and training in the locion, appearance, and function of the various major and minor systems susceptible to radiological illuminion; to interpret the examinion request accurely; to understand the functioning and inter-relionship of the various organs; to use the methods and techniques which will identify organs appearing on the digital display monitor, or on film, and the various stages of the examinion to judge the acceptability of the image and/or scan for diagnostic use and to emphasize the aspects of interest to the physician. DRT assignments th include performance of independent duties in this subspecialty require advanced ARRT certificion. Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist- GS-9: Experience . At least one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, directly reled to the position being filled th demonstres the clinical competencies described th level. Assignments .
