POSITION SUMMARY

To provide high quality imaging procedures to our patients andphysicians in a respectful and efficient manner while providingthose services in a safe and clean environment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education /

Training:

Earned a Radiologic Technology diploma or degree from a college oruniversity. Must be in compliance with CE Requirements. BLS required within 90 days of hire

Workplace Experience:

Preference of at least one year work experience in clinic settingafter graduation and accreditation; however, willing to train.

Equipment and Skills Training:

Possesses general knowledge of many types of x-ray equipment andcomputers. Will train on specific equipment and processes utilizedat Williamson Health Medical Group. In addition, has had previoustraining in fluoroscopy, surgery, and routine studies and willingto perform those functions daily.

Physical Environment:

Radiation safety and universal precautions practiced in amulti-modality imaging department.

Physical Effort:

Possesses the ability to perform multifunctional tasks to include:physically manipulate and operate equipment, assist in the movementof patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table; bend, twist,stoop; lift 20 pounds; communicate clearly, both verbally and inwriting; make appropriate decisions in urgent or emergencysituations; and demonstrate emotional stability and psychologicalhealth in day to day interaction with fellow employees, patients,their families, and physicians.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Checks patient identification and physician order to ensureaccuracy of request before proceeding with study. Questions female patients (ages 12-50) regarding thepossibility of pregnancy and properly documents information inrecord. Questions all patients who receive intravenous contrast mediaand documents information regarding allergies and medicalhistory. Provides proper radiation safety protection for all persons, toinclude self. Follows

ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY AND IMAGE WISELY.

Strives to maintain the dignity of each patient by ensuring thepatient is properly covered at all times; during exam and patienttransport. Seeks opportunities to assist in other areas during downtimeperiods and always makes good use of time. Checks often on patients waiting in hallways to ensure that thepatient is covered and comfortable (Pain Management). Shows leadership and teamwork in difficult situations and makesappropriate decisions. Volunteers for overtime and fill-in when needed. Ensures the safety of patients by following all safetyprocedures while moving patients from wheelchair or stretcher totable and observing patient while on radiology table. Performs high quality studies consistently. Works well with fellow employees to provide the most efficientuse of the equipment and ensures that all requests from physiciansand patients are completed.
