Position Summary:

To provide high quality imaging procedures to ourpatients and physicians in a respectful and efficient manner whileproviding those services in a safe and clean environment.

PositionRequirements:

Formal Education /

Training:

Earned a RadiologicTechnology diploma or degree from a college or university. Must bein compliance with CE Requirements. BLS required within 90 days ofhire.

Workplace Experience:

Preference of at least three years workexperience in clinic setting, after graduation and accreditation;however, willing to train.

Equipment and Skills Training:

Possessesgeneral knowledge of C-arm and x-ray equipment and computers. Willtrain on specific equipment and processes utilized at Bone andJoint Institute. In addition, has had previous training influoroscopy, procedures, and routine studies and willing to performthose functions daily.

Physical Environment:

Radiation safety anduniversal precautions practiced in a multimodality imagingdepartment.

Physical Effort:

Possesses the ability to performmultifunctional tasks to include: physically manipulate and operateequipment, assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs andstretchers to table; bend, twist, stoop; lift 20 pounds;communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing; make appropriatejudgement decisions in urgent or emergency situations; anddemonstrate emotional stability and psychological health in day today interaction with fellow employees, patients, their families,and physicians.

Performance Standards Key Results:

Checks patientidentification and physician order to ensure accuracy of requestbefore proceeding with study. Questions female patients (ages12-50) regarding the possibility of pregnancy and properlydocuments information in record. Consistently wears radiationdosimeter badge and turns it in at the designated time frame.

Provides proper radiation safety protection for all persons, toinclude self. Follows

ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY AND IMAGE WISELY.

Assistsphysiatry provider with pain procedures by successful operation offluoroscopy (C-arm) machine. Works collaboratively with radiologycoordinator/manager to ensure proper fluoroscopy protocols are upto date and followed. Assists with cross training of at least oneadditional fluoroscopy tech to cover during absence. Showsleadership and teamwork in difficult situations and makesappropriate decisions. Volunteers for overtime and fill-in whenneeded. Ensures the safety of patients by following all safetyprocedures while moving patients from wheelchair or stretcher totable and observing patient while on radiology table/proceduretable. Performs high quality studies consistently. Works well withfellow employees to provide the most efficient use of the equipmentand ensures that all requests from physicians and patients arecompleted.
