Videos Duties The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist – Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), employee this level is fully functional as an Advanced DRT and can carry out the assigned tasks independently. The team member will have a varying assignment including special and complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging examinions and procedures within the Magnetic Resonance section, with and without the use of contrast merials, a minimum of 25% of the time. Duties include but are not limited to: Accurely operes a wide variety of imaging equipment to obtain examinion of acceptable quality utilizing the standardized amount of Specific Absorption Re (SAR) to obtain quality imaging for diagnosis and localizion purposes. This includes but is not limited to 1.5 T-magnet and all other duties assigned. Technologist works under the supervision of the Section Supervisor and/or Lead Technologist and rotes all responsibilities within the MRI section. Incumbent will also support the diagnostic radiology section by providing coverage in this area as needed. Knowledge of cross-sectional anomy and physiology including locion, appearance, and functioning of the major and minor systems susceptible to radiographic illuminion and knowledge of changes to systems and organs caused by common medical and surgical diseases. Performs all aspects of MRI/Gen Rad imaging of the spine, head, neck, chest, studies including but not limited to Head, Neck, Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis, and extremities utilizing specialized sequences to visualize the anomy and phology necessary for diagnosis. Performs advanced level aspects of MRI imaging, such as MR Breast, MR Cardiac, and MR Functional Neuro Studies utilizing specialized sequences to visualize the anomy and phology necessary for diagnosis. Performs MRI imaging of the peripheral and visceral vessels through MR Angiography of the abdominal systems and extremities. Technologist is required to maintain competence in Venipuncture and refer to Imaging Service procedure manual for guidelines on Administrion of Contrast Media. Prepares contrast merials under the direction of the radiologist th are used in MRI, to include MR Angiography and other exams. Technologist is competent and educed in all aspects of MRI Safety, including any policy regarding MRI Safety. Technologist is competent and educed in all service policies pertaining to the technologist and their assigned work section. Receives and interprets all radiology requests for accuracy, approprieness; de desired and maintains a thorough knowledge of the ordering process in CPRS. Performs and completes imaging studies within the established guidelines for t, pre-op, urgent and routine exams.

Educion:

Completion of a full-time training course of least 24 months in durion (or the equivalent) in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certifice or an associe degree, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educion in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or from [other accrediting agencies as recognized by the Department of Educion (DOE).]

English Language Proficiency:

DRTs must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), and 7407(d). May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfhering Provision as described in the VA Qualificion Standard for this occupion (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupion and meet the criteria).
