Job Summary:
The PET CT Technologist is responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures as requested by medical staff. This role involves performing PET CT scans, maintaining equipment, ensuring patient safety, and adhering to radiation safety principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform all required diagnostic PET CT scanning procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging and accurate diagnoses. Recognize and initiate treatment for allergic reactions, notifying the responsible physician as needed. Coordinate daily activities of the PET CT department, including patient scheduling and verifying special requirements or restrictions. Maintain PET CT scanning equipment in good operating order, including cleaning and reporting any malfunctions. Ensure all exams are performed according to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles, and keep track of dosimeter readings. Maintain accurate records of supplies inventory and request necessary supplies through appropriate channels. Ensure that any required consent forms are signed prior to examination. Participate in the delivery of care as scheduled, maintaining open communication with other departments.
