Videos Duties The incumbent works within the Diagnostic Imaging Service (DIS) and performs technical work in support of DIS under the direction of the physician. Operes radiology equipment, fixed and mobile, as part of the diagnostic plan for pient(s) and supports radiologist and other medical officers to produce radiologic studies used to diagnose medical conditions.

Duties include:

Receives requests or instructions for procedures. Interprets requests or instructions from radiologist or medical officers. Receives assignments for a variety of difficult examinions. Independently interprets and carries out the requests made by physicians. Incumbent explains procedures, positions pients for desired results, and cushions and shields pients as approprie. Varies procedures or positions to adjust the pients’ medical conditions. Independently explains procedures and positions pients for very difficult procedures. Incumbent administers contrast merials orally, by enema, or, in some circumstances, intravenously under close supervision. Operes Digital, computerized radiography, as well as conventional Radiology equipment and PACS. Selects and sets technical factors for very difficult radiographic examinion. Sets up and adjusts accessory equipment required and makes exposures necessary for requested procedures. Sets up the X-ray room Incumbent independently makes routine radiographic examinions of head, trunk, and extremities for diagnosis of illness or injuries. Work is spot checked for achievement of objectives. Maintains supplies, cleans, and sanitizes equipment and area after use. performs routine maintenance and recognizes and report malfunctioning equipment to ensure repair.
