ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

TheMRI Technologist operates the Magnetic Resonance operations atSimonMed Imaging centers. Knowledge of magnetic resonance imagingprocedures and technology Operates a magnetic resonance scanner toobtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment ofpathologies Selects appropriate imaging techniques, and operatesconsole and peripheral hardware; enters and monitors patient data,transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce thetransparency, and develops film in automatic processor Obtainsimages, produces film records and backups from disk to storagemedia, and transfers from desk to PACS stations Maintains accuratestudy documentation Performs a variety of tasks A certain degree ofcreativity and latitude is required Demonstrates competency in theperformance of job-related skills appropriate to his/her customerpopulations and departmental services while providing excellentcustomer service. Utilizes and operates equipment and mechanicaldevices which provide for a functional, effective, and safeenvironment. Adheres to policies, procedures, guidelines relativeto departmental operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

License/Certification:

Registrationas a MR Technologist by the A.R.R.T. or

ARMRIT CPR

certification

Experience:

1 year in fast paced MRI environment preferred .

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position may require duties includinglifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, sitting for prolonged periodsof time, with frequent standing and walking.
