ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Onboarding and Development Support:
Assist with the orientation and onboarding of newtechnologists, ensuring adherence to departmental protocols andbest practices. Provide ongoing mentorship to new technologists during theirinitial employment period.
Performance Assessment:
Collaborate with leadership to evaluate technologists’productivity and quality of work using established performancemetrics. Identify performance gaps and recommend targeted improvementstrategies.
Quality Improvement:
Monitor compliance with imaging protocols, safety standards,and patient care guidelines. Address quality concerns through constructive feedback andaction plans.
Collaboration and Communication:
Serve as a liaison between technologists, management, and otherteam members to address productivity and quality challenges. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment thatencourages continuous learning and development.
Education andKnowledge Sharing:
Stay current with advancements in imaging techniques,technology, and best practices. Share knowledge and provide guidance to technologists onimproving clinical skills and efficiency.
Documentation andReporting:
Maintain accurate records of performance evaluations, feedbacksessions, and improvement plans.
Training & Education:
Deliver training sessions and ongoing support for MRItechnologists as well as MRI positioners and tech assistance toensure effective use of MRI systems. Educate users on MRI protocols, techniques, and the latestimaging advancements to ensure high-quality diagnostic images. Develop training materials, user guides, and referencedocuments to support staff education. 2/3 rd of your time would be utilized on helping technologistswith repeated technical imaging issues both remotely and on-site.
The goal is to provide them 1:1 support to better advance theirskills and eliminate these common errors. 1/3 rd of your time wouldbe utilized for new hires to ensure they understand and adhere toSimonMed standards.
MRI System Support:
Assist with configuration and troubleshooting of MRIsystems. Work closely with Modality Support to coordinate maintenance toinclude repairs of MRI machines should onsite observationsdemonstrate imaging issues that are outside of the technologistcontrol and hardware/software based.
Quality Control:
Work with the clinical team to optimize MRI scans for betterpatient outcomes. Assist in the implementation of new protocols and imagingtechniques to improve imaging efficiency and quality.
ClinicalCollaboration:
Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and otherhealthcare professionals to understand their imaging needs andensure optimal imaging protocols are in place. Troubleshoot imaging challenges and provide guidance to theclinical team in solving complex MRI-related issues.
System Updates& Enhancements:
Keep up to date with the latest MRI technologies, softwareupgrades, and advancements in imaging techniques. Lead the implementation and integration of new software orfeatures to improve operational workflows. Documentation ℜporting: Maintain detailed records of training sessions, system issues,and troubleshooting efforts. Generate reports on MRI system performance, and user feedback,and identify areas for process improvement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
Minimum of Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology orequivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in MRI applications. 5 years MRI experience or progressive relevant experience. Certification in MRI through American Registry of RadiologicTechnologists (ARRT), or American Registry of Magnetic ResonanceImaging Technologists (ARMRIT). Experience with MRI systems from major manufacturers (e.g.,Siemens, GE, Philips) is highly desirable. Experience training MRI technologists that is applicable to thejob description.
Skills & Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of MRI equipment, software, and imagingtechniques. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshootcomplex MRI-related issues. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with theability to educate and train staff effectively. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-pacedenvironment. Preferred experience with advanced imaging techniques such asfMRI, Spectroscopy, Breast.
