Description Job Summary Utilizes medical imaging equipment toproduce diagnostic quality radiographs through the use of ionizingradiation. Responsible for following all departmental RadiationSafety and ALARA policies as well as state and federal regulationsto ensure low-dose imaging is an integral part of practice.

Operates portable and stationary x-ray equipment and preparesexamination rooms, equipment, supplies, and medications. Providesfor patient comfort and safety during examinations. Job SpecificDuties Adjusts equipment, determines proper technique and arrangesimmobilization and support devices to obtain correct patientposition. Communicates effectively with hospital employees,physicians, and patients. Follows hospital patient-identificationpolicy prior to performing examination. Immediately upon completionof examination, verbally communicates with supervisor to ensureprompt review of images. Observes radiation safety practices at alltimes. Performs appropriate radiologic examinations as ordered.

Prepares patient for examination: explains procedures, transferspatient to table, positions patients and assists patient at end ofprocedure. Prepares room, equipment, and materials as needed forpatients. Produces high-quality radiographs and repeats views asnecessary. Promptly upon completion of examination, enters andtransmits patient information into PACS. Reports any equipmentproblems/malfunctions to appropriate person. Provides continuoussupervision, observation of behavioral health patients, and adheresto non-violent crisis intervention strategies (CPI). QualificationsMinimum Job Requirements General x-ray license from the State ofFlorida

• maintain active and in good standing throughoutemployment American Heart Association BLS maintain active and ingood standing throughout employment CPI
• Crisis PreventionInstitute required within 180 days of hire or transfer into theposition
• maintain active and in good standing throughoutemployment Registered by the American Registry of RadiologicTechnologist in RT (ARRT) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Graduateof AMA Accredited School of Radiology Technology preferred.

Able torelate cooperatively and constructively with patients, families,and co-workers. Ability to communicate effectively in English, bothverbally and in writing. Able to maintain confidentiality ofsensitive information. Ability to problem solve and adapt standardclinical procedures to the individual client’s need. Ability tointerpret, adapt, and react calmly under stressful conditions.
