  • Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.

WorkExperienceRequired

Preferred

  • CTexperience.

CertificationsRequired

  • -Registered by the AmericanRegistry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or computedtomography ARRT (CT) certified OR
  • American Registry of RadiologicTechnologists (ARRT) registry eligible,
  • registered by the AmericanRegistry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 90 days ofemployment, and temporary state license.

CT registry eligible withinone year.

Advanced certification in CT within one year of becomingCT registry eligible.

Current unrestricted license in state ofpractice.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from theAmerican Heart Association.

Preferred

  • Advanced certification in CTby a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of RadiologicTechnologists (ARRT).Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-basedapplications. Effective verbal and written communication skills and theability to present information clearly and professionally. Strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of
  • CT procedures and technical language.

Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure. Ability to be self-directed and to function without directsupervision. Ability and willingness to have and maintain flexibility inwork duties and hours (may require flexible schedule such asnights, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, etc.) andtravel throughout and between facilities. General knowledge of cardiac anatomy, Doppler physics, and thehemodynamics of blood flow in relation to the various diseasestates. Ability to preliminarily identify stenosis or occlusion basedon nationally published criteria. Ability to assist attending physicians with interventionalprocedures requiring ultrasonic guidance.

Job Duties Verifies physician order and procedure to assure accuracy. Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care. Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding. Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedureaccording to protocol (including placement of IV). Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure imagesmeet diagnostic quality standards. Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance withregulatory standards and performing notification/remediation aswarranted. Assists in the facilitation of departmental operations(inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, etc.). Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, includingbut not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction tothe patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to beperformed, requesting permissions and communication style. Performs other related duties as required.

Duties performedroutinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.

Theincumbent works in a patient care area; works in an area wherepatients enter; works directly with patients; and/or works withspecimens that could contain communicable diseases. There may be anoccupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.

Because theincumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may beoccupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications orhazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport,storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/ordisposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure mayincrease depending on the essential job duties of the role.
