Requirements Eighteen monthsprior experience in a health care setting as a CT Tech must be ARRT(CT) or ASRT certified Most states require licensure Ability towork independently as well as in a team environment. Positioning patients for CT scans using immobilizationand protective equipment as necessary Appropriately setting thecontrols of the related equipment, monitoring equipment andpatient, making adjustments as necessary Assisting radiologist withimaging procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast, ifapplicable Dispensing oral contrast to patients for CT scansAssisting radiologist with interventional CT procedures EvaluatingCT scans for technical quality, collating processed images insequence of exposure and appropriately labeling Scheduling patientsfor procedures and assisting with some clerical functions Chargingprocedures and supplies used to the patient record Loading andoperating power injections for contrast media administrationDelivers quality, cost effective patient care in a professionalmanner. Works effectively to maintain an environment of excellence,which is patient focused, providing timely, compassionate, qualitypatient care.
