RequiredQualifications:

• One year’s experience as a Mammography Tech
• Current state license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification ( AHA/ARC )

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current ARRT Certification
• Other certifications and licenses maybe required for this position

Summary:

The Mammography Technologistimplements orders from physicians and assists with procedures tohelp diagnose and treat breast disease in patients. They performscreenings and diagnostic imaging procedures to assist in thediagnosis and treatment of breast diseases. They ensure accurateimaging, maintain compliance with radiation safety standards, andprovide compassionate care to patients. Working collaborativelywith physicians and healthcare teams, they prioritize patientsafety and comfort while maintaining high-quality imagingpractices.

Essential Work Functions:

• Explains procedure topatients and answers questions if they arise
• Positions patientappropriately for imaging procedure
• Maintains medical imagingequipment, ensures machines are functioning properly, and organizesthe procedure room for optimal safety and efficiency
• Monitorimage quality during procedures, adjusting as needed achievediagnostic accuracy
• Collaborate effectively with radiologists andhealthcare teams as necessary
• Follows hospital policies, safetyregulations, and infection control procedures
• Practice infectionprevention through consistent hand hygiene, use of PPE, andisolation precautions
• Performs other duties as assigned withinthe scope of practice for

Mammography Technologists RequiredEssential Skills:

• Critical thinking, service excellence and goodinterpersonal communication skills
• The ability to read, write, &communicate in the English language is required
• Ability toread/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions,and proficiency in PC skills
• Physical Abilities
• Remain in astationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs),pushing, pulling, bending
• Interpersonal Skills
• To workeffectively with a variety of personnel (professional andancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
• Technical/Motor Skills
• Ability to grasp, fine manipulation,pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting withprocedures and/or using department equipment.
• Mental Requirements
• Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the generalpublic, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must beable to work under close supervision occasionally as well asworking without assistance from other personnel. Must be able tocontend with irregular activity schedules occasionally andcontinuous concentration to detail
