POSITION SUMMARY

To provide high quality imaging procedures to ourpatients and physicians in a respectful and efficient manner whileproviding those services in a safe and clean environment.

POSITIONREQUIREMENTS

Formal Education /

Training:

Earned a RadiologicTechnology diploma or degree from a college or university. Must bein compliance with CE Requirements. BLS required within 90 days ofhire

Workplace Experience:

Preference of at least one year workexperience in clinic setting after graduation and accreditation;however, willing to train.

Equipment and Skills Training:

Possessesgeneral knowledge of many types of x-ray equipment and computers.

Will train on specific equipment and processes utilized atWilliamson Health Medical Group. In addition, has had previoustraining in fluoroscopy, surgery, and routine studies and willingto perform those functions daily.

Physical Environment:

Radiationsafety and universal precautions practiced in a multi-modalityimaging department.

Physical Effort:

Possesses the ability toperform multifunctional tasks to include: physically manipulate andoperate equipment, assist in the movement of patients fromwheelchairs and stretchers to table; bend, twist, stoop; lift 20pounds; communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing; makeappropriate decisions in urgent or emergency situations; anddemonstrate emotional stability and psychological health in day today interaction with fellow employees, patients, their families,and physicians.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Checks patient identificationand physician order to ensure accuracy of request before proceedingwith study. Questions female patients (ages 12-50) regarding thepossibility of pregnancy and properly documents information inrecord. Questions all patients who receive intravenous contrastmedia and documents information regarding allergies and medicalhistory. Provides proper radiation safety protection for allpersons, to include self. Follows

ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY AND IMAGEWISELY.

Strives to maintain the dignity of each patient by ensuringthe patient is properly covered at all times; during exam andpatient transport. Seeks opportunities to assist in other areasduring downtime periods and always makes good use of time. Checksoften on patients waiting in hallways to ensure that the patient iscovered and comfortable (Pain Management). Shows leadership andteamwork in difficult situations and makes appropriate decisions.

Volunteers for overtime and fill-in when needed. Ensures the safetyof patients by following all safety procedures while movingpatients from wheelchair or stretcher to table and observingpatient while on radiology table. Performs high quality studiesconsistently. Works well with fellow employees to provide the mostefficient use of the equipment and ensures that all requests fromphysicians and patients are completed.
