JobSummaryPerforms a variety of breast imaging procedures that requireindependent judgement, ingenuity and competency.
EssentialFunctions All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliantwith Prisma Health’s values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion.
Be the difference. Obtains optimum quality breast images for radiologistinterpretation while performing screening mammograms and diagnosticbreast imaging studies. Assists radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound guidedbiopsies. Assess patients through review of previous studies and historyto determine screening versus diagnostic patients. Covers other functions in the department as deemednecessary. Provides radiation protection in accordance with properstandards as set by State and Federal boards, uses propershielding, collimation and technical factors that minimizeradiation exposure without affecting quality of images. Remains abreast of changes and new procedures by attendingeducational seminars or classes and reading job relatedmaterial. Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmentalchanges/updates by checking email on each shift. Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/ManagementResponsibilities This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor,manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements Education
- Certification program
- Radiologic Technology Experience
- No experience required.
