MRITechnologist (Tech) St.
Francis DowntownJob Summary:
The MRI Tech isresponsible for daily modality operations. They perform MagneticResonance Imaging (MRI) according to established protocols andworks closely under the direction of the Radiologist and otherphysicians.
Essential Functions:
Knowledge in workflows, procedures,operation, and processes of the MRI imaging modalities.
Appliesprinciples of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk topatient, self, and others.
Confirms the quality and accuracy of allpertinent patient and procedural data.
Selects proper MRI pulsesequences and scan parameters according to establishedprotocols.
Contributes to the training and education of new staffand assists in oversight of MRI students.
Provides direct patientcare and instructions before, during, and after procedure.
PerformsIV injections and administers magnetic contrast agents specific toprocedure.
Troubleshoots equipment during malfunction in absence ofservice engineer and reports malfunction to radiologymaintenance/supervisor.
Education:
Associate’s from an AmericanRegistry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited institute(preferred)
Licensure/Certification:
Certification and Registrationwith American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) inDiagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRI Registry (MR) (required, ormust within one year of hire)Basic Life Support (BLS) AmericanHeart Association (preferred upon hire, required prior to directpatient care)
Experience:
1 year of experience in MRI department inhospital setting (preferred)EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR)(preferred)Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS)(preferred)Many of our opportunities reward• your hard workwith:
