MRI Tech PRN Hours Vary Piedmont Newton Hospitalhas a new, state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)machine. The 3T (or 3 Tesla) MRI machine creates sharper imagesthan earlier models and will allow the hospital to offer newimaging procedures. Previously, patients from Newton andsurrounding counties might have had to drive up to an hour toaccess this technology that is now available at Piedmont Newton. Weare excited to bring this leading-edge technology to people in ourcommunity, said Lindsey Petrini, CEO of Piedmont Newton. Thisequipment supports our goal to offer the latest imaging technologyfor patients so they can receive the care they need close to home.
The GE Signa Architect MRI will allow Piedmont Newton to expand itsimaging offerings to include prostate imaging procedures. With thistop-of-the-line equipment, we will be able to produce clearerimages more quickly, meaning faster diagnosis and reduced waittimes overall for patients, said Lisa McWilliams, director ofImaging Services at Piedmont Newton. It also allows us to do scansthat patients had previously been sent to Athens or Metro Atlantato receive.
RESPONSIBLE FOR
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)technologists utilize the resonant frequency properties of atomswithin a magnetic field to image anatomic and/or physiologicconditions of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis ofdisease. MR technologists perform diagnostic Magnetic resonanceexaminations in accordance with all prescribed standards under thedirect guidance of the supervising Radiologist. MR Technologistsprovide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal,pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
Graduate of an AMA approved RadiologicTechnology program (ARRT) orcertified by the American Registry ofMagnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
MINIMUMEXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A minimum of one (1) year experience as aRadiology Technologist required.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONREQUIRED BY LAW
Registered by the American Registry of RadiologicTechnology in Radiography (R) or Certified by the American Registryof Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS
Advanced certification by the ARRT in MRI (MR)preferred Six (6) months MRI technologist experience preferred BLScertified
