Job Summary:

Professionally trainedindividual who produces high quality radiographs for allinterventional studies, assists with sterile setup, and maintainssterile technique throughout procedures. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in eachencounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employeesregardless of cultural background.

Job Description:

Operates all equipment in an effective, safe and efficientmanner. Minimizes radiation exposure. Assists physicians withinvasive radiographic procedures. Handles and assists in sterile procedure and supplies. Mustprep and monitor patients during the procedure. Records QA assignments. Performs routine maintenance andcleaning of equipment. Performs routine maintenance in cleaning allequipment. Complies with house-wide BSI precautions and followsrecommendations. Follow the safety steps required to perform their duties and bein compliance with medical, state and federal safety standards.

They must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessaryto provide care appropriately. Must be proficient in all aspects of ordered IR procedure. Thisservice provides diagnostic images for interpretation by theRadiologist. Demonstrate knowledge and ability to set-up and assist invenous access procedures. Review patient history for patient’s condition. Takeprecautions to check for possible adverse reactions. Demonstrates knowledge and ability of inventory status andcontrol. Rotates stock, maintains and adequate quantity. Obtains and records all patient data as required by the medicalcenter, state, JCAHO or other agencies. Ensure proper charging ofall procedures, coding, and modifiers are correct. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials,Licenses:

Graduate of an approved accredited program of RadiologicTechnology. Current CPR certification ARRT(R) registered or eligible (see below for individual staterequirements)

State Licensure:

Kentucky KBMIRT Radiation Operator’s License

• Radiography (Temporary orPermanent) Associate has 12 months from the issuance of a Temporary KBMIRTRadiation Operator’s License
• Radiography to obtainARRT(R).Indiana Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) License
• (RadiologicTechnologist or Radiology Student Permit) Associate has 6 months from the issuance of a Radiology StudentPermit to obtain ARRT(R).

Specialized Knowledge:

Excellent understanding of radiation protection and steriletechnique.
