RESPONSIBLE FOR

Operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnosticradiographs and performs routine diagnostic procedures according toestablished standards and practices. Provide patient services usingimaging modalities. Provides patient care to all age groups toinclude neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performs radiological procedures on patients of all age groups.

Images must be reviewed by a staff technologists prior to submission forinterpretation. 2. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizesall required equipment. 3. Maintains competencies for all related tasks. 4. Accurately follows all established imaging protocols. 5. When performing exams in ICU or surgery the student tech must beaccompanied by a staff technologists. 6. Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribedstandards and practices. 7. Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of aviable dose reduction program. 8. Provides patient education and communications in accordance withprescribed standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

1. Must be able to operate many types of x-ray equipment, includingradiographic/fluoroscopy rooms, and portable x-ray units. 2. Must be able to produce quality radiographic exams. 3. Must deliver SAFE care in accordance with the Alwaysafeprogram. 4. Must use AIDET with every encounter and be proficient withservice recovery.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED

Currently enrolled as a 2nd year student in an accreditedradiological technology program.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW

None

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

BLS certified.
