A MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scansto produce detailed and high-resolution images of internal organs,tissues, and structures within the body. These images assistphysicians in diagnosing and monitoring various medical conditionssuch as injuries, diseases, and abnormalities. The MRI Technologistoperates specialized imaging equipment, ensures patient safety, andcollaborates with healthcare teams to provide accurate diagnosticinformation.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform MRI scans using specialized equipment to capturedetailed images of the body’s internal structures. Prepare patients for MRI procedures by explaining the process,positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safetyduring the procedure. Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images, adjustingsettings as necessary to ensure accurate diagnosticresults. Monitor and support patients throughout MRI procedures,ensuring their safety and comfort in a confined, noise-controlledenvironment. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcareprofessionals to review MRI images and assist in the interpretationof findings. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, includingimaging data and scan results, for physician review. Ensure proper handling and maintenance of MRI equipment,including conducting safety checks and regularcalibration. Adhere to safety protocols related to MRI, including monitoringpatients for any potential adverse reactions and using protectivemeasures as needed. Educate patients on MRI procedures, preparing them forpotential claustrophobic concerns and managing any anxiety duringthe process. Stay current on advancements in MRI technology, imagingtechniques, and patient care standards through continuingeducation.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in RadiologicTechnology, MRI Technology, or a related field.
Certification:
Certified MRI Technologist (CMR) certification from theAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or theAmerican Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists(ARMRIT). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience:
