  • Completion of anapproved Radiologic Technology program Work Experience Preferred
  • CT experience Certifications Required
  • Registered by the AmericanRegistry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or computedtomography ARRT (CT) certified OR American Registry of RadiologicTechnologists (ARRT) registry eligible, registered by the AmericanRegistry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 90 days ofemployment, and temporary state license required CT registryeligible within one year Advanced certification in CT required,within one year of becoming CT registry eligible Currentunrestricted license in the state of practice Current Basic LifeSupport (BLS) certification from the American Heart AssociationPreferred•Advanced certification in CT required by a mechanismacceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists(ARRT) Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)•Must have computerskills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval ofinformation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skillsand the ability to present information clearly and professionally
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, varioussoftware packages specific to role and keyboard.
  • Stronginterpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technicallanguage.
  • Ability to work with and maintain strictconfidentiality.
  • Ability to work efficiently and calmly underpressure.
  • Ability to work self-directed and to function withoutdirect supervision.
  • Ability and willingness to have and maintainflexibility in work duties and hours (may require flexible schedulesuch as nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts,etc.).
  • General knowledge of cardiac anatomy, Doppler physics, andthe hemodynamics of blood flow in relation to the various diseasestates.
  • Skills to preliminarily identify stenosis or occlusionbased on nationally published criteria.
  • Skills to assistattending physicians with interventional procedures requiringultrasonic guidance. Job Duties
  • Verifies physician order andprocedure to assure accuracy.
  • Utilizes radiology informationsystems to facilitate care.
  • Explains procedure to patient toensure understanding.
  • Independently operates equipment tocomplete imaging procedure according to protocol (includingplacement of IV).
  • Reviews patient images prior to transmission toensure images meet diagnostic quality standards.
  • Completes timelyquality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standardsand performing notification/remediation as warranted.
  • Assists inthe facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staffschedules, equipment maintenance, etc.).
  • Adapts behavior to thespecific patient population, including but not limited to: respectfor privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adaptingexplanation of services or procedures to be performed, requestingpermissions and communication style.
  • Other related duties asrequired.

Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands,manual dexterity. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods oftime. Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.

Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluidand tissue. The incumbent works in a patient care area; works in anarea where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/orworks with specimens that could contain communicable diseases.

There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicablediseases. Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting,there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardousmedications or hazardous waste within the environment throughreceipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing,administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
