JOBDESCRIPTION

Technologist must be able to work independently,follow protocols, and follow MRI safety procedures. Level 1 traumaexperience Client 1.5T scanner. To perform this job successfully,an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. ARRT registeredor unlimited state license OR Certification in another clinicalimaging field (such as ARDMS or NMTCB) with associate degree orbachelor degree in allied health field

CAMRTregistered as an MR technologist with no experience. Advancedcertification in MRI required by an organization recognized by theACR Registry required within two years of employment. Preferred -Advanced certification in MRI required by an organizationrecognized by the ACR Registry. Knowledge Skills and Abilities(KSAs) Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-basedapplications. Effective verbal and written communication skills andability to present information clearly and professionally. Stronginterpersonal skills. Knowledge of MRI procedures and technicallanguage. Ability to work with and maintain strict confidentiality,work efficiently and calmly under pressure, and be self-directedand function without direct supervision. Ability to work flexibleschedule (such as nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, extendedshifts, etc.) and travel throughout and between facilities. Generalknowledge of cardiac anatomy, Doppler physics, and the hemodynamicsof blood flow in relation to the various disease states. Ability topreliminary identify stenosis or occlusion based on nationallypublished criteria. Ability to assist attending physicians withinterventional procedures requiring ultrasonic guidance. Ability toprovide care and/or support services in a manner consistent withthe patient’s age, social, spiritual, and cultural needs and otherspecial consideration. Job Duties Verifies physician order andprocedure to ensure accuracy. Uses radiology information systems tofacilitate care. Explains procedure to patient to ensureunderstanding. Independently operates equipment to complete imagingprocedure according to protocol (including placement of IV).Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure images meetdiagnostic quality standards. Completes timely quality controlprocedures in accordance with regulatory standards and performingnotification/remediation as warranted. Assists in the facilitationof departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipmentmaintenance, etc.). Adapts behavior to the specific patientpopulation, including but not limited to respect for privacy,method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation ofservices or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions andcommunication style.
