Leadsdepartmental programs, acts as a clinical mentor for junior staffand students, and assumes routine supervisory duties in the absenceof the team leader. Education Required

  • Completion of a radiologictechnology program in an AMA approved school. Work ExperienceRequired
  • 5 years of radiologic technologist experience.

Certifications Required

  • Registered by the American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensed by the RadiologicTechnology Board of Examiners in state of practice. Basic LifeSupport (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Knowledge Skillsand Abilities (KSAs)
  • Proficiency in using computers, software,and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and writtencommunication skills and ability to present information clearly andprofessionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work aflexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on callavailability) and travel throughout and between facilities. JobDuties
  • Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy
  • Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
  • Explainsprocedure to patient to ensure understanding.
  • Independentlyoperates equipment to complete imaging procedure according toprotocol (may include placement of nasogastric tubes, IVs, urinarycatheters, and administration of contrast).
  • Reviews patientimages prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnosticquality standards.
  • Completes timely quality control procedures inaccordance with regulatory standards and performingnotification/remediation as warranted.
  • Leads departmentalprograms, protocol development, system standardization, competencyvalidation, safety programs, accreditation, and quality/efficiencyinitiatives.
  • Assists in the orientation and training of juniorstaff; provides feedback to annual staff evaluations.
  • Adaptsbehavior to the specific patient population, including but notlimited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to thepatient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to beperformed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
