- Registered by the AmericanRegistry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) OR American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry eligible, registered bythe American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 90days of employment, and temporary state license required.
Currentunrestricted license in the state of practice.
Current Basic LifeSupport (BLS) certification from the American HeartAssociation.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-basedapplications. Effective verbal and written communication skills and abilityto present information clearly and professionally. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend,holiday, on call availability) and travel throughout and betweenfacilities.
Job Duties Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy. Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care. Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding. Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedureaccording to protocol (may include placement of nasogastric tubes,IVs, urinary catheters, and administration of contrast). Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure imagesmeet diagnostic quality standards. Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance withregulatory standards and performing notification/remediation aswarranted. Assists in the facilitation of departmental operations(inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, etc.). Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, includingbut not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction tothe patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to beperformed, requesting permissions and communication style. Performs other related duties as required.
