This job isresponsible for assessing patients and safely performing routineradiographic procedures in accordance with prescribed safetyprocedures and protocols. • Completion of aRadiologic Technology program in an AMA approved school WorkExperience Required
• None Preferred
• Healthcare experienceCertifications Required
• Registered by the American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (ARRT) Current license in the state ofpractice Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American HeartAssociation Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
• Must havecomputer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrievalof information.
• Effective verbal and written communication skillsand the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
• Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, varioussoftware packages specific to role and keyboard.
• Stronginterpersonal skills. Job Duties
• Verifies physician order andprocedure to assure accuracy
• Utilizes radiology informationsystems to facilitate care
• Explains procedure to patient toensure understanding
• Independently operates equipment to completeimaging procedure according to protocol (may include placement ofnasogastric tubes, IVs, urinary catheters, and administration ofcontrast)
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensureimages meet diagnostic quality standards.
• Completes timelyquality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standardsand performing notification/remediation as warranted.
• Assists inthe facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staffschedules, equipment maintenance, etc.)
• Adapts behavior to thespecific patient population, including but not limited to: respectfor privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adaptingexplanation of services or procedures to be performed, requestingpermissions and communication style.
• Other related duties asrequired.
