Job:
Manipulates computerized tomographical radiological equipment, using knowledge of positioning patients and general anatomy and physiology as well as the ability for processing these images. Responsible for the tracking of each study and the PACS acquisition of the study performed. Properly uses radiation protection devices, selects technical factors necessary to produce optimum quality computerized radiographical images; processes those images and performs a variety of other duties consistent with providing quality computerized tomographical services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of an accredited radiology technology program. Minimum of one year experience in a CT department with multi-slice technology. A.R.R.T. registered in Radiology, state licensed in radiology by the
LSRT. CT
registered required within one (1) year of hire. Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with patients of all types and ages. Must possess strong guest relations skills.
Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
