Job:
The MRI Technologist must be knowledgeable of MRI and magnet environment. Has knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care, including contrast injections. Staff knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skilled in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of MRI to provide ongoing patient care. Is skilled in preparing and maintaining team quality assurance. Skilled in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with patients, medical staff, and community. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Responsible for the tracking of each study and the PACS acquisition of the study performed. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Performs a variety of other duties consistent with providing quality MRI services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiology program. Must be registered in MRI within one year. Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with patients of all types and ages. Must possess strong guest relations skills.

Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
