lookingfor a Mammography Tech (Traveling Mammography Tech) Focus Staff isseeking a traveling Certified Mammography Tech, who will performmammography procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients in aphysician office, clinic, or hospital setting as requested by aphysician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of diseaseand injury in accordance with established protocols. TheMammography Technologist performs high quality mammographyprocedures, according to exam protocol, in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

Utilizes AIDET when communicating withpatients to: identify patient service requirements, ensure correctexam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapportwith patients and others. Instructs/communicates with patientand/or patient`s family regarding the test to be performed andassesses patient`s ability to tolerate exam. Prepares patient orarea for mammography procedure by positioning patient, adjustingimmobilization devices, moving equipment into specified positionand adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. Protectspatients and employees by adhering to safety requirements,infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols andtechniques. Uses proper sterile techniques when setting up andperforming invasive mammography procedures and maintains handhygiene requirements. Works with engineers and physicists to ensureoptimal operational capabilities of equipment. Reports issues tomanagement or appropriate department. Obtains, verifies andmaintains all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart,patient history, pregnancy status and shielding precautions taken,consent forms, etc
